Monthly Archives: April 2022

April

Easter blessings from small window studio where the garden is blooming. Beautiful display of daffodils, grape hyacinth, cowslips and tulips. The fruit trees are in full blossom, the rhubarb is high and the raspberry canes lush. Lots of birds on the feeders, very territorial blackbird strutting about and singing and many rooks, jackdaw and magpie.

This month has been taken up with the SOLACE project and I’m pleased to say (and relieved!) it is taking shape – I have 7 framed pieces ready and 6 more currently at the framers. I am looking at other prints and work now to prepare for the browser.

Here is a sample of the finished work:

Trent Bank Reed Show (Monotype)
Elloughton Dale -Tree Cathedral (Drypoint)
Barrow upon Humber – The Rookery (Drypoint)

I have also being making the most of the fine (cold) weather and working outside where I can. I have my little watercolour kit , supplemented by Inktense blocks and pencils, down to a fine art and a comfy chair too.

From the Tree Bank – Watercolour and Inktense)
Kiplingcotes – Field 2 (Watercolour and Inktense)
Kiplingcotes Field 1 (Watercolour and Inktense)

We are concentrating on our SOLACE book, selecting poems and images and Nick has made an iMovie from some stills – its all go.

See you in May- when I should have prepared a couple of pieces for the Humber to the Wash Open at the Ropewalk.
